Austenitic Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is an alloy steel that contains a minimum of 10.5% chromium and 6% nickel, molybdenum, and niobium. Compared to general steel, stainless steel does not easily corrode, and rust. Austenitic stainless steel is a type of Chromium-nickel-iron alloy is with 16-26% chromium, 6-22% nickel, and low carbon content. The content of Nickel increases corrosion resistance. It’s magnetic-free and can be hardened by cold-working as well as tempering. Type 304 (18/8 steel) is the most commonly used grade. At WLD Steel, Austenitic stainless steel products are available in an extensive range of forms, grades, finishes, gauges, widths and lengths.
