409/409L Stainless Steel

Type 409 is chromium, titanium stabilized without nickel Ferritic stainless steel for general purpose. It is magnetic and combines good elevated temperature corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance with medium strength, good formability and overall cost. 409L is the low carbon version of grade 430 steel, both of them offer a better resists corrosion and mechanical properties than carbon steel and Austenite stainless steel, has been used in applications where high corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation required like the high-efficiency engine of an automobile , exhaust system, thermal switches, frame and heat exchanger.
