Edelstahl 431 ist eine Art martensitischer Edelstahl mit hohem Chrom- und niedrigem Nickelgehalt. Er zeichnet sich durch hohe H\u00e4rtbarkeit und gute Korrosionsbest\u00e4ndigkeit gegen\u00fcber organischen Materialien, Salpeters\u00e4ure und Erd\u00f6lprodukten aus. Die H\u00e4rte von 431 kann durch H\u00e4rten und Anlassen bis zu ca. 40 HRC betragen, abh\u00e4ngig vom Kohlenstoffgehalt und der Querschnittsgr\u00f6\u00dfe.
