Tvrdost se m\u016f\u017ee zv\u00fd\u0161it a\u017e na 50 HRC. Vynikaj\u00edc\u00ed charakteristikou oceli 18Ni je, \u017ee m\u00e1 st\u00e1le dobrou hou\u017eevnatost a vysokou lomovou hou\u017eevnatost za podm\u00ednek ultra vysok\u00e9 pevnosti a vysok\u00e9 tvrdosti.
